Ok, so you may have to use your hands A LITTLE BIT, mostly for positioning and balance, but not to apply pressure! In this course you'll learn a new Thai massage sequence using mostly your feet and knees to apply acupressure and passive stretching and explore equipment options for maintaining balance and support.
Students must be able to sit, kneel and move around on the floor to complete this class. As in every immersion course we offer this one will work specifically on :
a logical sequence of techniques for the entire body
the fundamentals of positioning and transitioning
appropriate practitioner body mechanics and
general principles for giving a balanced and flowing Thai Massage session with a meditative state of mind
Thai Massage is experiencing a rapid growth in popularity for its benefits of relieving muscle tension, clearing restricted patterns of movement, stimulating energy flow and restoring balance.
Instructor Charlene Gaffney has been a licensed massage therapist for 21+ years and has over 18 years of teaching experience in both entry-level and continuing education environments. She is a registered instructor with the Thai Healing Alliance International, a Certified Massage and Bodywork Educator with the AFMTE and the founder/curriculum specialist for Elevate Massage Training.
