Our Table Thai CE courses are designed to build upon the principles of professional touch that are taught in massage school. Therefore, we require our students to have a license to practice massage therapy as a prerequisite to taking our Thai Massage courses. Having this prerequisite allows us to place a strong focus on technique application during our classes. Previous Thai Massage experience is not required to enjoy sharing all of the incredible new bodywork techniques you will learn in class. Current Thai Massage practitioners, join us to reinvigorate and inspire your current practice. Our one day Table Table Rx courses can be taken at any time, in any order.

Table techniques are applied with the therapist keeping at least one foot on the floor at all times. Some techniques may require LMTs to sit on the table and have one or both knees on the table at the same time. Modifications that keep the feet on the floor are presented as available.

Course Title : Table Thai : Head & Neck Rx : Thai massage is a dynamic system of bodywork that combines acupressure with joint movement and stretching. The Thai Massage techniques presented in this class focus on energizing and restoring balance to the head and neck. Students will learn Table Thai protocols for treating common head and neck dysfunctions that result from chronic muscle tension and restricted movement patterns such as torticollis, TMD and headaches. Receiver remains clothed. No lubrication is used. Techniques can be integrated into any table massage session and used in sports massage type settings. 

At the end of the training LMTs will receive a CE certificate of completion to verify board approved continuing education and satisfy massage licensure renewal requirements. Additionally, LMTs will have a unique sequence of techniques that can be used as a stand-alone treatment or integrated in with other techniques as indicated with each client.

A strong, sturdy and wide massage table is recommended for serious practitioners. LMTs are strongly advised to prepare to complete practice sessions immediately after each class. Post-class practice is considered the self-study component to each table CE course. 

Instructor Charlene Gaffney has been a licensed massage therapist since 2001 and has teaching experience in both entry-level and continuing education environments since 2004. She is a registered instructor with the Thai Healing Alliance International, a Certified Massage and Bodywork Educator with the AFMTE, a certified yoga instructor and the founder/curriculum specialist for Elevate Massage Training. She has studied Thai massage and ashiatsu extensively with many reputable teachers in the US and Thailand and makes frequent trips to Thailand since 2014.

Class is 8am - 5pm each day and we take one hour for lunch around 12pm. We also take short breaks between activities so please bring your own water and snacks. 

LOCATION DETAILS

We are located on the northeast corner of Kirby/Poplar on the first floor of the Forum 1 Building.  *Sometimes the GPS will identify the city as Germantown 38138. Please park and enter through the north (front) entrance. There is a Kroger grocery store across the street and many restaurants in walking distance or a short drive to/from training facility. The training will be held on the second floor in the conference room.

For out of town students : The training facility is located in the main business district of East Memphis on the border of the city of Germantown. Any search for lodging in the 38138, 38120 and 38119 zip codes will put you within a short drive. The Hilton Garden Inn of Germantown is the closest and across the street. The airport is approx. 11 miles. Downtown Memphis is approx. 20 miles. Midtown Memphis is approx. 12 miles.
