Table Thai Weekend Immersion

This is a two day weekend immersion training for licensed massage therapists. All levels are welcome and it is beginner-friendly.

Thai Massage is experiencing a rapid growth in popularity for its benefits of relieving muscle tension, clearing restricted patterns of movement, stimulating energy flow and restoring balance. Students will learn a variety of useful Thai massage acupressure, joint mobilization and stretching techniques that have been adapted for the table and receive logistical sequencing tips for integrating them into a session.

Upon completion of this course LMTs will be able to demonstrate a selection of Thai massage techniques for the lower and upper body that have been adapted for table bodyworkers. Learners will observe technique demonstrations then give and receive techniques as guided by the instructor while refreshing their knowledge of tableside body mechanics using the Thai approach.

Instructor Charlene Gaffney has been a licensed massage therapist for 21+ years and has over 18 years of teaching experience in both entry-level and continuing education environments. She is a registered instructor with the Thai Healing Alliance International, a Certified Massage and Bodywork Educator with the AFMTE and the founder/curriculum specialist for Elevate Massage Training.

Prerequisite: Licensed Massage Therapist (you will be asked to provide your license # and state)

Approved in TN, AL, GA, FL, IN, MO, and all states that accept the NCTMB credential  (#451520-10)

Supplies:

pen, notebook

fitted sheet and face rest cover

short, clean, smooth fingernails

Socks and a sweater in case you get cold

Wear unrestrictive clothing that's easy to move around in

Class is 9am - 5pm each day and we take one hour for lunch around 12:30pm. We also take short breaks between activities so please bring your own water and snacks. 

*Please do not come to class if you or someone you have been around recently is sick, running a fever or experiencing symptoms of illness.

This event is being held at the Mind Body Insitute massage school. Parking and entrance for CE classes is at the back of the building. There are many restaurants (including a Thai restaurant) and a grocery store in walking distance or a short drive from the school.

For out of town students : The airport is approx. 20 miles. Downtown Nashville is approx. 15 miles. Our favorite area for lodging is approx. 3 miles from the school in Goodlettsville. You might try the Holiday Inn Express Goodlettsville - N. Nashville as a comfortable, mid-range option.
